In case you haven’t seen this morning’s headlines, Vidyo is continuing to disrupt the video conferencing market and just announced a new free cloud-based service: VidyoWay. Now anyone using Cisco, Polycom, Lifesize, other H.323 and SIP-based room systems, Microsoft Lync clients, mobile devices and telephones can easily connect with each other and/or with Vidyo endpoints.
It was 4:55 pm the day before a regional conference on interactive medicine, at which our CEO was chairing a panel discussion at 1 pm. I just opened up an email from one of our panelists who informed us that he had a “can’t miss” meeting come up at 2 pm, immediately after our panel session, and this would mean he would have to cancel his appearance. Since we develop applications using video communications, our first thought was to ask, could he still be available during the 1-2 pm time slot to participate in the panel remotely via televideo? The answer was yes, so we next turned our attention to how to make this work.

Vidyo’s CEO, Ofer Shapiro, had the pleasure of hosting Congressman Scott Garrett (R), from New Jersey’s Fifth District at Headquarters in Hackensack, NJ. The Congressman was given a tour of our offices and a demo of VidyoPanorama, where he witnessed a multi-point VidyoConference with participants as far reaching as Brussels. During his visit, the Congressman spoke to Shapiro about Vidyo’s role in local job creation as well as important strides made in sales and certification with the Federal Government.
