Vidyo today, announced that the Partners Healthcare Telestroke Program at Massachusetts General Hospital (MGH) – supporting 27 hospitals throughout Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Maine — has deployed a revolutionary telemedicine communication and collaboration solution based on Vidyo’s platform. The Vidyo telehealth solution will be used for video conferencing and sharing data to enable specialists from MGH to examine patients at remote hospitals miles away to diagnose and recommend treatments. MGH selected Vidyo for the next stage of its telestroke program.
Vatican City Selects VidyoConferencing Technology to Ease Communications between Offices of the Holy See
The Vatican is one of the world’s oldest institutions, keeper of Christian traditions and of thousands of years of history whose roots date back to the 5th century. One of the objectives of the Vatican in the past few years has been centered around the improvement of communication. The sovereign territory of the Holy See illustrates this shared effort and has deployed VidyoConferencing to enhance interactions between the various locations throughout the organization.
Today, Vidyo announced VidyoMobile, a groundbreaking solution enabling enterprise mobile users on iOS or Android-based smart phones or tablets to join multipoint video conferences with desktops and HD room system participants.
Today, Vidyo announced a new partnership with BCS Global, a leading worldwide provider of managed video conferencing, telepresence and visual collaboration services. BCS Global is the latest on a growing list of Vidyo’s strategic relationships with providers from all over the world such as Arkadin and Imago.
Another Vidyo milestone took place at last night’s 2011 MobileTrax Wireless Innovators Dinner – an annual event that is part of CTIA, honoring excellence within the mobile computing and wireless data communications industry over the past year. In front of an audience that included senior executives, venture capitalists, investment bankers, industry analysts and media, Vidyo received the 2011 Mobile Trax Mobility Award for Enterprise Mobility / Mobile Video Conferencing. We’re especially proud of this award since we’ve worked so hard to break new ground in video conferencing for mobile devices.
There’s a lot to be said for learning from real life versus a text book. The staff and faculty at Arizona State University’s School of Life Sciences (SOLS) took the “seeing is believing” approach to education one step farther, and last year initiated a class that allowed ASU students to explore the jungles of Panama without having to leave Tempe, Arizona. Not only that, they were guided by leading research scientists and experts from the Smithsonian Tropical Research Institute’s facilities on Barro Colorado Island, in the middle of the Panama Canal! When Charles Kazilek, SOLS Director of Technology Integration and Outreach, discovered Vidyo, he was thrilled.
Vidyo Integrates with Microsoft Lync, Delivering its VidyoConferencing to Lync Users Anywhere, Anytime
Interoperability is currently at the core of an important debate in the video conferencing industry which will surely escalate in the coming months as more and more players in the market start to embrace standards such as the new extensions to Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) and the H.264 SVC standard (scalable video coding). Vidyo, as always, is in the thick of this discussion and we’ve been doing our part to further interoperability in this market. Yesterday, we released the latest in a series of announcements we’ve made over the past six months that demonstrate our focus on interoperability and unified communications: a new Plug-In for Microsoft Lync.
Enterprise Connect is now drawing to a close and it truly was a great event for Vidyo. We made two great announcements, were EC award finalists, participated in fascinating discussions and sessions and got the chance to meet great people and important players in the video conferencing industry. What a night! Vidyo was the host of the 2011 Enterprise Connect party in Orlando Florida and we all had a great time. This was a great way for us to announce our new VidyoRouter Cloud Edition and to answer questions about how its architecture may change the videoconferencing industry.
